Clinics Plus

more your range of options.

Four clinics will be by Iain Rice on realistic layout design from concept to construction and on through to the tracks, trains and some ideas on realistic operation. To tempt you away from Iain at least some of the time will be topics like making scenery (both NZ and US desert), layout lighting, the possibilities offered by On30 and garden railways, getting to know the Kadee coupler better, modelling a logging operation, weathering, photographing models, converting RTR locos, and the fascinating history of the permanent way.

Workshops programme

There will be two sessions of hands-on workshops with many techniques being demonstrated at each session. Subjects include resin casting, building turnouts, workshop skills, figure painting, making decals, laser cutting, a DCC uncoupler, remodelling diecast cars, Tortoise point motors, modelling in styrene and more.

Tutored modelling

You may also opt for a short series of tutored sessions where you will actually paint some miniature figures, make realistic trees and build a small bridge, with the guidance and help of an experienced modeller.
